Description

Timelapse of yolk syncytial layer (YSL) nuclear movements during gastrulation from a dorsal-anterior view shows epiboly, early animal pole directed movements of I-YSL nuclei, and convergence and extension with intercalation. As the dorsal YSL nuclei extend along the AP axis, original animal pole nuclei are displaced toward more ventral locations. Video made available by Mark Cooper through Zebrafish - The Living Laboratory.
