Description

A high resolution image of a layer of mucocysts docked under the pellicle. The pellicle has a plasma membrane and an alveolar sac system. Both basal bodies of a dikinetid are ciliated, and the food vacuoles are plentiful and filled with bacteria. TEM taken on 6/5/69 by R. Allen with Philips 300 operating at 60kV. Neg. 4,270X. The raw film was scanned with an Epson Perfection V750 Pro. This high resolution image is suitable for quantitative analysis.
