A time-lapse series using digital holographic microscopy presented as a movie. The movie shows living human prostate cancer cells (DU 145) induced to undergo of apoptosis following treatment with etoposide. The images were created by Phase Holographic Imaging AB (PHIAB), Lund, Sweden.

Technical Details

The human prostate cells were grown on Ibidi [Tm], 1-well µ-slides, (Ibidi GmbH, Martinsried, Germany) on a 37 °C heating plate (Ibidi). Images were recorded for over 61 hours with one image taken every 4 minutes. The video speed is 8 images per second and the images were artificially colored (Holostudio). The scale bar shows image size and the color bar represent specimen thickness.
